Congratulations to three of our players who made the South African u19 training group.

Match Results Final

Heartbroken but proud.

That is the word for the feeling in the team when the final whistle went. After 48 minutes off an extremely tight encounter in which the players put their bodies on the line the loss by 1 goal was keenly felt.

Boland lost the final game of the tournament 26 - 27.

Congratulations to Freestate Motheo for winning the gold medal at the 2009 u19 South African Netball Championships.

However we are proud winners of the silver medal.

Friday was an exellent day for the Boland u19 team.

We played in the play-offs against Gauteng East. The players all had a chance and gave their best.

Boland won the game 46 - 28.

With the win Boland progressed to the finals. The finals consists of three teams playing in a round robin to determine the final positions.

We played the first match of the round robin at 14:40 against Gauteng North. It was a very tight game played in a extremely competitive way.

Boland won the game 32 - 27. The quarters were :

2. 19 - 10
3. 27 - 16
4. 32 - 27

News Update

We have made the play-offs. We won Pool C and will now be playing in the play-offs against Gauteng East at 09:20 on Friday. This match will determine if we will be playing for a medal.

Match Results 3

Thursday was the last of the pool games. We again played 2 games. We had a very successful day even though the Thursday Syndrome made it's appearance. The team supported each other and managed to overcome all the normal problems associated with it.

At 8 o'clock we played against Zululand. Zululand were very competitive and had a never say die attitude.

Boland won the game 39 - 12 :

At 12 o'clock we played against Gauteng West. They came out strongly and it seemed that they had done their homework about our play. The team however kept their heads and everybody did their part.

Boland won the game 39 - 32 :

3. 32 - 22
4. 39 - 32

Match Results 2

Boland played two more games today. Against North West East and Chris Hani. These matches were played an hour apart. The players had to get up early and had breakfast at 6 o'clock.

The players gave it their best and had to work hard to keep their focus and composure. The players interchanged a lot but still kept on producing the goods.

The first match of the day was played against North West East 8 o'clock the morning. It was quite cold this time of the morning.

The second match was played against Chris Hani. Chris Hani were no match for the Boland team. However the Chris Hani players never quit and proved what playing netball is all about.

Match Results

On Tuesday we played two games against North West South and North West Central.

The North West South game was a very close game but the players kept their heads and composure and produced a couple of nice periodes of play.

Boland won the match 39 - 29.

Player of Match : Leozanne van Harte

In the afternoon we played against North West Central. NW Central gave it their all. Boland was however much to strong for them and won the match comfortable.

Boland won 53-8.

Partial Program

A number of teams have withdrawn. There are now 3 pools. Boland u19 plays now in Pool C. The following program is a partial program and will be added at a later stage.

The Preparation

The team played 3 matches during the Southern Tournament. They won all three matches.
